A unique automated distribution center has been put into operation in Shushary
The facility with the total area of 10,500 square meters has been built in the territory of logistics complex A Plus Park Saint Petersburg-1 (previously – A Plus Park Shushary) on an order of the Russian largest distributor of pharmaceutical products – Katren.
This is the first warehouse in Russia built by the developer in compliance with new GDP standards (a system of quality of warehouses and distribution centers for the pharmaceutical industry).
Katren logistics center comprises a dry warehouse, wholesale batching areas, storage areas with different temperature conditions as well as office premises. Owing to a three-level mezzanine, the company has more than doubled the useful space. The center will be used to store and process 14,000–15,000 different products.
According to the Regional Director of Katren, Dmitriy Monzikov, owing to an automatic line and a high-speed wholesale area, it is possible to serve here 6,000 companies – customers from six regions (Saint Petersburg, Karelia, Leningrad Oblast, Pskov Oblast, Novgorod Oblast and Kaliningrad Oblast).
The new distribution center will be used to process orders from pharmaceutical institutions, including applications submitted by end customers via Apteka.ru website.
“Owing to commissioning of this center, the company’s warehousing capacity in Saint Petersburg has been increased three times,” says the Commercial Director of A Plus Development, Vyacheslav Zelepuga.
The broker of the transaction was Knight Frank St. Petersburg.Archive
